Event Community Acupuncture (Mini-Acu Sessions) (25 minutes)

BTCH Wellness participates in pop-up events and pop-up community healing spaces to introduce community members to the deep rest and healing that acupuncture can help foster.

With a mini-acu session, you receive:

  • A short check-in with Kat to see what you'd like to address with acupuncture today.

  • 25-minutes of rest in a reclining chair in a co-regulative space (you will be resting at the same time as other folks). When you are healing in a space with others, you compound your healing by all regulating together!

  • An optional essential oil eye cover to help deepen your rest and calm or enliven (depends on which blend you choose!) your senses. Each essential oil option is blended by Kat using a variety of essential oils sourced as locally and sustainably as she can find.

Current events available to book a session include:

Community Acupuncture

Community Acupuncture @ Community Well in San Francisco (60 min max): These appointments are at the Community Well in San Francisco, CA | 78 Ocean Ave San Francisco, CA 94112 | ~12 minute walk from the Balboa BART Station + very close to the bus stops on Mission & Ocean.

  • These are held on Thursdays from 3-7pm. The final appointment booking is at 6pm. It is Sliding Scale $50-$30 for 1 hour of rest.

  • As of January 1, 2024, Community Acupuncture must be paid prior to treatment. Once you arrive at your appointment, prior to choosing your resting spot, you may pay with cash, credit, PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.

  • Community Acu is held in a large room with other folks also receiving treatment. No clothing removal necessary, but it is suggested to dress in breathable, loose-fitting clothes. There are bathrooms available to change clothes if you are coming straight from work, as well.

  • Community Acu is also great to do with friends or family. Simply book consecutive appointment slots and you can co-regulate together!

  • This style of acupuncture is “distal point” acupuncture, which means that I will only be needling limbs and the head or face. It is just needles, no other modalities (cupping, gua sha, tui na, acupressure) are typically included.

  • It is an easy, affordable way to try acupuncture if you’ve never tried it before and want to give it a shot!

  • It is also an easy, affordable way to keep getting care if you doing private acupuncture regularly is not available.

Private Acupuncture

Private Acupuncture @ Community Well in San Francisco (75 min): These appointments run concurrently with the Community Acupuncture Sessions (Thursdays 3-7pm) at the Community Well in San Francisco, CA | 78 Ocean Ave San Francisco, CA 94112 | ~12 minute walk from the Balboa BART Station + very close to the bus stops on Mission & Ocean

  • Although these are held in the same room as the Community Acupuncture appointments, they are in a section of the room that is cordoned off for privacy.

  • You still get the benefit of co-regulating with others, but with more in-depth intake and more opportunity to experience the other modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine, like cupping, Tui Na (bodywork), or Gua Sha.

  • If you want a little bit more personalized care for a certain condition or a myriad of conditions that need extra attention, this could be a good option for you.

  • If it is your first time booking private acupuncture with me, please book an Initial Appointment; Initial Appointments are 90 minutes.

  • As of January 1, 2024, Initial Acupuncture Appointments will require a minimum of $50 (the intake fee) at the time of booking. When booking on Acusimple, a payment pop-up will appear. It is auto-populated to the amount of $50. The balance of the appointment will be paid after treatment, in case you would like to purchase a package.

    • If you no-call/ no-show on the day of your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you forfeit this amount.

Facial Acupuncture & Microneedling

COMING SOON: DELUXE FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE

Facial Acupuncture focuses on the deeper layers - fascia, muscles, and the lymphatic system to ensure a smooth flow of Qi and blood to the face. The treatment of root causes of imbalance with a focus on meridians in the upper body, head, and face may result in looser muscles in the area, less puffiness, face sculpting and lifting, a brighter complexion, and a subtle softening of some wrinkles.

This treatment is DELUXE, in that it offers much of the ancillary services that one would get during a facial with the added benefit of acupuncture needles all in one treatment.

**If you have had cosmetic enhancements (botox, fillers, injections, surgery), please wait at least 3 months before scheduling a facial acupuncture treatment with me.

Initial treatments are 120 minutes and Return Treatments are 90 minutes.

They include some combination of the following, depending on your presentation and facial acupuncture goals:

  • Intake We talk about your system as a whole, your lifestyle, your stress levels, your diet, your sleep, and other issues that you may be dealing with. This helps me to form a thorough Chinese Medicine Diagnosis so that I can treat the WHOLE Body and System, not just your face.

  • Cleansing (a cleanser will be chosen for you based on your skin type/ sensitivities. I typically use Korean Beauty Brand: Pyungkang Yul due to its commitment to Clean Beauty. They use minimal ingredients and Environmental Working Group approved ingredients). You will be responsible for washing your own face prior to laying down on the treatment bed.

  • Body Needles I will always do a little bit of body needles to keep your Spirit grounded during the facial treatment. These needles will always be tailored to what's going on with you internally.

  • Hot Towel, Toner, and Facial Mask, Facial Steamer Once you are on the treatment table, I will apply a hot towel for muscle relaxation and to open the pores, swipe with some toner, and apply a paper mask. I may add a facial steamer to enhance the absorption of the nutrients in the mask.

  • Microcurrent For contouring, lifting, and toning

  • Neck, Chest, Facial Acupressure Massage which may or may not include Buccal Massage for TMJ if your assessment calls for it. This will also light lymphatic massage around the chest, armpit, and neck.

  • Guasha This will be an extension of the microcurrent and massage; to further sculpt and massage, really focusing on the fascia layer and lymph movement

  • Facial Cupping Instead of pressure, cupping lifts the fascia layer to relieve tension and encourage lymphatic movement

  • Acupuncture Facial Needling with LED Lights Take a cat nap with needles and LED lights on the upper body. The deep relaxation will allow the body to incorporate all of the services that were done prior

  • Finishing with Guasha Roller, Guasha Mushrooms, and/or Cryoglobes This final step is calming and cooling and closes the treatment. It also helps to prevent and/or distribute any possible [light!] bruising that may occur.

Travel Acupuncture

Travel Acupuncture (75 min): I am currently offering private acupuncture via travel appointments. I typically service the East Bay and the South Bay (San Jose). If you are outside of these service areas, please note that in the Google Form.

  • Typically, I visit with you at your home, but I am also available to go to a place of work or other location, provided privacy can be maintained/ HIPAA Laws cannot be violated. I am fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and I can also wear a mask at your request. We can also do treatments outdoors on a deck/balcony/patio or in your backyard.

  • If it is your first time booking acupuncture with me, please book an Initial Appointment; Initial Appointments are 90 minutes.

Insurance:

I do not take insurance, but I am able to provide Superbills. I do accept HSA/ FSA Cards, however, they are a little bit finnicky with my POS system. If your HSA/ FSA has a chip or tap function, it is more likely to be accepted by my system.

My clients, have, however, had pretty good success with submitting a receipt to their insurance and getting fully reimbursed. It works best if you submit an invoice or receipt for each individual appointment. Please talk to your insurance if you need a particular kind of receipt, like a superbill, or if they need to know my NPI Number.

*Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed, even with a superbill. Reimbursement is dependent on your insurance carrier and coverage. However, it never hurts to try!

REMINDERS & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Please make sure you eat something and are well hydrated at least one to two hours prior to your appointment. Subtle body work takes energy!
